BGS holds School Orchestra Day

On Wednesday 3rd July BGS held the school Orchestra Day.

Players from all over Bury came together to perform a variety or pieces.

In the morning, there were sectionals, where players rehearsed their parts in detail with other members of their section.

After a fun samba session which tested our rhythm skills and a hearty lunch, the entire orchestra gathered in the Infant School Hall to play through the programme, which consisted of pieces like the 'Star Wars Theme', 'Bare Necessities', 'Frere Jacques' and 'The Entertainer'.

These were then performed to an audience of parents at the end of the day. Like previous years, this years Orchestra Day was a massive success, and would not have been possible without the help from the senior helpers and the hard work and organisation from the music staff.

On behalf of everyone who played, I would like to thank all those involved for their dedication and hard work, which make the day one to remember.
