Junior Girls showcase musical talents at Informal Concert

The Girls' Junior School delighted us with their Informal Concert on Tuesday, showcasing their musical talents.

The evening included group and solo performances and the girls showed us just how hard they have been working and how far their talents stretch.

They were wonderfully accompanied by Mrs Gray, Mrs Dickson and Miss Britton. We truly have some beautiful musicians.

The orchestra opened our showcase with Last Minute Latin and Finlandia, playing beautifully together.

Our Junior Choir showed great talent (and a lovely sense of fun) with their pieces Zipedeedodah, Hey Diddle Diddle and the wonderful Tales, Tales, Tales.

Our Senior choir brought singing and choreography together with their rendition of Surfing on the Internet. They also sang I Am Sailing, Badgers and Hedgehogs and Smuggler’s Song.

Recorder group had worked hard on their piece An Eriskay Love Lilt.

Our Ukelele group, accompanied by Mrs Gray, brought us She’ll Be Coming Round the Mountain, Waltzing Matilda and What Shall We Do With the Drunken Sailor. They were absolutely fantastic.

Interspersed throughout all of this were some incredible soloists.

They brought us the delights of singing, violin, cello, clarinet, flute, saxophone, horn and even the drums!

They showed great talent and a wonderful sense of showmanship.

Well done girls!
