All legacy gifts, whatever type or size, play a vital role in the future of our School and even a small percentage of an estate can have a very significant impact.
We understand that protecting the interests of your family and friends must be your first priority. However, a bequest to the School, large or small, could provide much needed help for our Bursary Fund or the improvement of our ageing facilities.
All legacy donations to BGS are free from inheritance tax; this can greatly assist with estate planning and can also reduce any tax payable by other beneficiaries.
Legacies to BGS have always played an important part in determining the School’s future: gifts of all kinds, left by friends, parents and former pupils have each helped to make the School what it is today.
With your help we can preserve our rich tradition of education, and continue to achieve excellence and to create opportunity in a fast-changing world. Pledging a gift to BGS will cost you nothing today but it will help to shape generations of pupils to come.
Leaving a Legacy to BGS will give you the opportunity to:
- Give something back to your School and leave a lasting memory in perpetuity.
- Do more than you might be able to in your lifetime.
- Reduce inheritance tax on your estate.
We deeply appreciate this thoughtful consideration of investment in the future of the Schools and should you choose to leave a Legacy to Bury Grammar School, you will be welcomed as a member of The Roger Kay Legacy Society. This special group has been formed to acknowledge and thank supporters during their lifetime.
Members of the Roger Kay Society have the opportunity to share their interest in the Schools with like-minded friends, meet the pupils and Headmaster and Headmistress and learn about our plans for the future.
We recognise that making such a decision is private and personal. Membership is discreet and of course anonymity will be respected if wished. However, we should be most grateful if you would let us know your intentions so that we may have an opportunity to thank you.
