On Tuesday 14th May, esteemed Bury solicitor Michael Shroot, of Woodcocks Haworth & Nuttall’s, visited Bury Grammar School to deliver a Roger Kay Lecture.
He spoke about life as solicitor, career paths and the key skills or attributes needed to be successful in his field.
Michael himself was brought up in Bury, however trained in London to achieve his degree and now is working back in his home town.
He currently specialises in Employment Law and Company Disputes.
Students were entertained with stories which featured examples of his favourite and most fascinating cases.
These examples made it a speech that really did provide a true insight into the everyday life of a solicitor from a perspective of starting out to having over 20 years’ experience.
