At Bury Grammar School Boys learning extends well beyond the school gates.
We strongly value the benefits of experiential learning and seeing the world outside the classroom. This helps explain why last academic year we ran a total of 79 trips including 5 to international destinations.
Such variety of trips is only possible from passionate and dedicated staff, prepared to give their time in order that your son gets the best quality of experience. Each trip has a well defined educational outcome and is rigorously checked by our EVC for safety before it leaves school. The result is a wealth of opportunity for our boys to experience other cultures, compete at national level or get a real world perspective on what they see in the class room.
Each year group has the opportunity to participate in residential visits, developing independence whilst experiencing wider educational points. Highlights last year saw our boys visiting WWI battlefield sites in France, gaining professional football coaching from the staff at Olympiacos and trekking under their own management in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. The boys regularly come back from these types of visits full of stories and adventures and extolling just how life-changing they are.
