Wellbeing

Student wellbeing lies at the heart of our ethos.

We put our students first and we recognise that, if they are to become successful individuals with a zest for life, they must also be secure, happy and healthy.

We pride ourselves on prioritising student wellbeing at BGS. We do this through our daily contact with students, our PSHE programme of study which introduces and reiterates key messages, and our assemblies. We also work closely with parents, external agencies and with the School Health Team to ensure that students’ needs are met. Moreover, we endeavour to provide a tolerant, safe and positive environment in which students can flourish and grow.

Students are taught through PSHE, assemblies, our Behaviour Policy and in their form time and lessons that their wellbeing is a priority. They are also taught that they should consider the wellbeing of others. At BGS, we respect and care for our pupils and, in turn, we expect that they should respect and care for one another.
