Infants explore Blackpool Zoo after invite from BGS Old Girl

The Infant School children were welcomed to Blackpool Zoo by BGS Old Girl Anita Hashmi; who is working at the zoo completing research for her masters degree.

She remembered both Mrs Bye and Mrs Jennings from her time in the Infant School! Making them feel quite old!

The children had a fabulous time looking at the dinosaur safari and doing a workshop on 'Roarsome Dinosaurs'. The children enjoyed exploring the zoo and seeing all the animals and watching the sea lion show.

The children took part in a ‘Display or Hide Away Workshop’ where they learnt all about camouflage and the coats of different animals. They had the chance to touch snake skin, tiger fur, peacock feathers and lots more. After their workshop Reception explores the zoo. We saw the Sea Lion show, visited the penguins, saw the lions and tigers basking in the sun and watched the giraffes have their lunch. There was even a cheeky seagull who stole one of our sandwiches.

A big thank you goes out to all the parents who volunteered as helpers on this trip.
