BGS works with World Challenge to provide interesting and productive overseas expeditions.
Pupils join expeditions to developing regions of the world to undertake various charitable community projects. During each of these expeditions participants are exposed to the local culture and must work as part of a team to facilitate transport and accommodation during the excursion. Project work is also a major part of any expedition. Working with children in poor areas to enhance lives and make a lasting impact on the communities visited.
No challenge would be complete without a physical goal. Participants from BGS have reached the summit of both Mount Kenya and the world's highest free standing mountain Mount Kilimanjaro, conquered the Madagascan rain forest and survived the Altiplano plateau. Cultural visits to important local historical sites such as Machu Picchu and the Terracotta Army complete an excellent opportunity for personal development.
